Account password and security
In short: the password needs at least 10 characters — no required digits or symbols. Best: a few words that are easy to remember. The most common passwords are refused.
Password
Section titled “Password”- The rule shows under the field from the start. While you type, a meter shows Weak, Fair, Good or Strong, and how many characters are left.
- «This password is too common — it’s easy to guess.» means the password is on the list of the most common ones. Choose another.
- The eye button in the field (Show password) shows what you typed.
- A new password is set only with a reset link from the administrator: see Forgot your password. After that you are signed out everywhere.
In Account settings → Google:
- Connect Google — sign in with Google instead of a password.
- Disconnect Google — only if the account also has a password. Otherwise you’d have no way to sign in, and you’ll see «This is your only way to sign in. Set a password first.»
We ask «is it you?»
Section titled “We ask «is it you?»”Connecting or disconnecting Google and deleting the account ask for your Current password. If you sign in only with Google, you’ll be asked to Sign in with Google again.
Signing out
Section titled “Signing out”Open the menu on your avatar at the top and tap Log out. This signs out this device only. Otherwise a device stays signed in for 30 days after your last visit.
If it didn’t work
Section titled “If it didn’t work”- «Too many attempts. Try again in … min.» After 10 wrong passwords for one email (or 50 from one internet address) sign-in pauses for 15 minutes. Wait and try again.
