Opened inside Telegram/Instagram
In short: apps like Telegram, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok open links in their own built-in browser, and it can’t save photos to your phone. Open the gallery in Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android) instead.
You’ll know it’s happened when you see a banner at the top: To save photos, open the gallery in Safari on iPhone, or … in Chrome or another browser on Android.
Open the gallery in your browser
Section titled “Open the gallery in your browser”- Tap Copy link in the banner. The button changes to Link copied.
- Open Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android.
- Tap the address bar, paste the link and open it.
- If the gallery has a password, enter it again — your browser doesn’t know it yet.
Another way: many apps have a menu (⋯ or ⋮, usually at the top right) with an Open in browser option.
If it didn’t work
Section titled “If it didn’t work”- The button says “Couldn’t copy”. Press and hold the link in the original message and choose to copy it there.
- No banner, but saving still fails. See Save photos to iPhone or Save photos on Android.
