Publishing the portfolio, public vs private, search engines
In short: the portfolio is seen only once you turn on Publish portfolio. Until then your ….picsme.app
address opens only your galleries, and its main page says «Page not found». Once published, a Public profile opens by the link, no password, and search engines may show it. A
Private profile needs the link and a password, and search engines don’t see it.
Publish the portfolio
Section titled “Publish the portfolio”Open Portfolio → Visibility and turn on Publish portfolio. It saves at once; turn it off to hide the portfolio again. A new account starts unpublished.
The subdomain address works for your galleries either way: their links (….picsme.app/<gallery>) do not depend on
this switch. Views and clicks are counted only while the portfolio is published.
Choose who sees it
Section titled “Choose who sees it”- Open Portfolio → Visibility.
- In Who sees the portfolio pick Public profile or Private profile. It saves at once.
- For a private profile, a Password of 6 digits appears. Tap Copy and send it along with the link.
When you switch to private, the password is created right away, so nobody gets in without it.
Change the password
Section titled “Change the password”Tap Generate a new password next to it and confirm with Generate. The old password stops working: send the new one to those who need it.
Also in Visibility
Section titled “Also in Visibility”- Address — the
….picsme.applink, for the portfolio and your galleries alike. Once changed, the old address stops working; for 30 days it goes to no one else, and you may take it back. - Allow downloads — whether visitors may download photos.
- Theme — Light or Dark.
A public profile is not listed in any catalog — only those with the link find it, or a search engine.
