Gallery address

In short: a client opens a gallery at <your address>.picsme.app/<gallery address>, for example anna.picsme.app/wedding. Your address is the same as your portfolio’s; the gallery’s part is set in the Address field of the Access group.

  1. Open the gallery and go to the Access group.
  2. In Address, type a name: Latin letters, digits and hyphens. It saves when you leave the field.
  3. Copy the new link from Link with Copy, or send it with Share with client.

A new gallery gets an address from its title (a second “Wedding” becomes wedding-2). Galleries created before the move to picsme.app keep a random-looking address, so a gallery you have already sent doesn’t suddenly become easy to guess — set a readable one yourself if you like.

Once changed, the old address stops working at once, with no redirect: send clients the new link. This address is already taken means another of your galleries has it.

Anyone who guesses anna.picsme.app/wedding can open an Open gallery — no password is asked. That’s why the Address field of an open gallery warns you. For anything private, switch the gallery to Password (Open vs password-protected) or keep a hard-to-guess address.

Guessing is slowed down: after 30 “not found” answers within a minute from one IP, that IP waits 15 minutes. Galleries never show up in search engines.

Your address (the part before .picsme.app)

Section titled “Your address (the part before .picsme.app)”

It is set in Portfolio → Visibility → Address and is shared by the portfolio and all your galleries. Once changed, every gallery link with the old address stops working, with no redirect (a plain “Page not found”): send clients the new links. For 30 days the old address goes to no one else, and you may take it back (only the address you released last is held); you can change it up to 5 times a day. The portfolio itself is seen only after Publish portfolio; galleries work either way. See Publishing the portfolio.
