What clients can download
In short: with Allow downloads on, the client can save one photo, a section or everything, as the original or as a 2048 px copy. Off — the gallery is for viewing only.
Turn downloads on or off
Section titled “Turn downloads on or off”- Open the gallery and click Downloads on the left.
- Turn Allow downloads on or off. It is on in a new gallery.
With downloads off, the client sees no Save or Download buttons. Downloads can also be limited for one person: see Participant access.
What the client chooses
Section titled “What the client chooses”- What: All photos, one section, or This photo.
- Size:
- For phone and social media — a 2048 px JPEG on the long side. Small and fast; the default.
- Original — your file in full quality, in its own format (a HEIC stays HEIC).
- How:
- On a phone — Save to Photos: straight into the Photos app, in batches of up to 20 photos.
- Download archive (ZIP) — one file with all the photos; in the whole-gallery archive each section is a folder.
- Download photo — a single file.
On iPhone a ZIP goes to the Files app, not to Photos — that is why the phone offers Save to Photos first. Client guides: iPhone, Android, computer.
What leaves with the files
Section titled “What leaves with the files”- Location data is removed from every client copy: see GPS and metadata.
- With Keep the gallery order on, files sort the way your gallery does: see Keeping gallery order after download.
- Private sections are not in a guest’s ZIP: see Sections and private sections.
